W. Volleyball. Miners to Battle I-10 Rival NM State Friday
The Miners and I-10 rival NM State will square off in the first of two meetings in 2010 on Friday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. in Las Cruces. The pair will duke it out for the final round of the "Battle of I-10" in El Paso on Tues., Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. in Memorial Gym.

UTEP will square off against defending Big West Conference champion Utah Valley University at 1 p.m. at University Field on Sunday. The Miners (1-1) are coming off a hard-fought 2-1 hands at the hands of Fresno State on Friday. The Wolverines (1-2) also will be looking to rebound, as they were bounced by Texas State, 1-0, in the opening-round match of the 13th-annual Miners' Classic on Friday.

The UTEP soccer team was tripped up by Fresno State, 2-1, in the opening night of the 13th-annual Miners' Classic at University Field on Friday.The Bulldogs (1-2-0) staked the early advantage on a strike by Claudia Cardenas (17:54) and then made it 2-0 after Laura Dodd scored at 53:03. UTEP regrouped nicely, with Katie Dorman tallying her first goal of the campaign off a nice feed from Anoop Josan at 67:17.
