W. Basketball. UTEP Grabs Seven Votes In AP Top-25 Poll
UTEP picked up seven votes-three more than last week- and is now tied for 35th in the country according to the Associated Press top-25 poll released Monday. The Miners (20-2, 9-0 C-USA) handed Rice its first home setback in league play, 45-41, in their lone game of the week on Feb. 5.

For the second time in three days, a furious rally by the UTEP tennis team came up just shy in a 4-3 setback to Air Force at the El Paso Tennis Club Sunday afternoon. The Miners (1-4) trailed 1-0 after doubles play & found themselves down 3-0, but they would not go down quietly to the Falcons (6-1).

W. Basketball. Brown & Defense Fuel UTEP's 45-41 Win At Rice
Tenacious defense and a big second half from senior Gloria Brown proved to be the right combination to keep UTEP undefeated in Conference USA play following a hard-fought 45-41 victory at Rice Sunday afternoon. Overall it marks the 10th straight triumph for the Miners (20-2), who have become the third team in program history to reach the 20-win plateau.

W. Basketball. UTEP To Play At Rice In National TV Tilt
UTEP will return to the hardwood to play at Rice at 10 a.m. MST in a nationally-televised tilt (Fox Sports Networks) on Sunday. The Miners (19-2, 8-0 C-USA) have been idle since derailing UCF, 65-38, for their eighth straight victory. The Owls (11-11, 5-4 C-USA) had a three-tilt win streak snapped with a 65-57 loss at Marshall on Feb. 2. Ron Thulin (play-by-play) & Debbie Antonelli (color) will have the call for FSN. The game will also be broadcast locally in El Paso on 1150 AM & fans can get live updates through following the team's official Twitter feed (@UTEPWBB).

W. Rifle. Rifle's Match Against Air Force Cancelled
A blizzard moving across Denver and other parts of Colorado has forced UTEP and Air Force to cancel their match that was scheduled to be played on Sat. Feb. 4. Denver International Airport has cancelled numerous flights inhibiting the Miners from getting into town.

W. Tennis. UTEP Tennis Edged Out By Northern Arizona, 4-3
Marie LeBlond extended her win streak to three while Rebeca Calvillo and Dariya Abdrakhmanova also picked up victories but UTEP was ultimately held off by Northern Arizona, 4-3, at the El Paso Tennis Club Friday afternoon.

W. Tennis. UTEP Tennis Set For Pair Of Home Matches This Weekend
It will be a busy weekend for the UTEP tennis team, which is slated to play a pair of home matches. The Miners (1-2) will play host to Northern Arizona in their home opener at 1 p.m. MST Friday before locking up with Air Force at 12 p.m. MST Sunday. Both matches will be contested at the El Paso Tennis Club, and admission is free.
